The 2020 Klipsun Vineyard Cabernet is a great example of the graceful power Red Mountain can exhibit. A rich perfume of black cherry, pencil shavings, currant and vanilla bean set the stage for the dense, generous palate.  This wine possesses a purity of dark fruits that is elevated by the gentle, toasty oak background.  The finish is intense and offers hints of crème de cassis, green peppercorn and milk chocolate.  This is very easy to enjoy now and will easily cellar for 12+ years.

Full-bodied, expressive and bold, the spicy and juicy Cabernet continues to unwind and uncoil across the complex and firmly tannic finish. It’s an absolute beauty of a Cabernet that will undoubtedly please those big, bold and juicy Cab lovers worldwide. 2020 Klipsun Cabernet

Over the last 25 years, we have occasionally created a wine in the cellar with unique and exceptional attributes, where the quantity is so limited there isn’t enough to offer all of our customers. This exclusive offering continues the tradition of showcasing a Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon as a rare offering for our wine club members. Since 1992, DeLille Cellars has been devoted to the excellence and distinct character of the Red Mountain AVA. On these venerable slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon is nurtured beneath the warmth of the Eastern Washington sun and produces wines of striking depth and remarkable structure. In this excellent vintage, barrels were carefully selected to showcase the exceptional power and ripeness of Cabernet Sauvignon from Klipsun, a vineyard that consistently cultivates formidable wines with uniquely compelling depth of fruit.

Vineyards

Established in 1984 and located on the Southwest slope of Red Mountain, Klipsun remains one of the Washington’s most reputable vineyards. Klipsun vineyard has deeper soils, resulting in very rich and ripe fruit creating concentrated wines with plum and brandy nuances.

Winemaking

Cold soaked for 24-36 hours and fermented on skin 12-14 days. Half of the lot went through extended macerated for 8-10 weeks before blending and aging for 20 months in 100% new French oak.
