The 2019 Klipsun Cabernet s a blend of our favorite eight barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the esteemed Klipsun Vineyard. Often quite powerful and structured in its youth, this year’s effort is more restrained, highlighting the savory character of the vintage. Cranberry, thyme, black fig, and hoisin are all framed beautifully by toasty oak. The finish is invitingly long and refined, with trademark dusty Red Mountain tannins being the driver.

Refined and handsomely polished, with a vibrant core of tannins and acidity that highlights the rich flavors of blackberry, orange peel, clove and other dark spices. The finish is both firm and supple, suggesting it’s ready now but will thrive in the cellar. Drink now through 2035. – Tim Fish
Behind the Wine
2019 Klipsun Cabernet
Over the last 25 years, we have occasionally created a wine in the cellar with unique and exceptional attributes, where the quantity is so limited there isn’t enough to offer all of our customers. This exclusive offering continues the tradition of showcasing a Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon as a rare offering for our wine club members.
Since 1992, DeLille Cellars has been devoted to the excellence and distinct character of the Red Mountain AVA. On these venerable slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon is nurtured beneath the warmth of the Eastern Washington sun and produces wines of striking depth and remarkable structure. In this excellent vintage, barrels were carefully selected to showcase the exceptional power and ripeness of Cabernet Sauvignon from Klipsun, a vineyard that consistently cultivates formidable wines with uniquely compelling depth of fruit.
Established in 1984 and located on the Southwest slope of Red Mountain, Klipsun remains one of the Washington’s most reputable vineyards. Klipsun vineyard has deeper soils, resulting in very rich and ripe fruit creating concentrated wines with plum and brandy nuances.
