Our red sampler is a perfect way to bring Delille cellars to your holiday table with three distinct wines: our Metier Rhone-Style Blend, our D2 Bordeaux-style Blend, and Four Flags Cabernet from Red Mountain.
2015 Four Flags
Befitting a wine sourced from great vineyards on Red Mountain, the 2015 Four Flags presents properly developed fruit aromas of blackberry, red currant and black cherry, balanced with savory herbs, roasted coffee, cedar and anise. The vanguards of the palate are blueberries and fresh plums reinforced by dense, ripe tannin and mouthwatering acidity with an unyielding finish.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
2016 D2 *25th Vintage*
2016 D2, the 25th vintage of this remarkable cuvee, leaps from the glass with an impressive and inviting abundance of fruit aromas, including pomegranate, fresh blueberry and currant. Restrained oak influence enrobes the fruit, adding essences of cocoa nibs and cherry cordial. Dense and vibrant on the palate, with a pure fruit core, this wine offers elegant tannin and remarkable integration. Incredibly balanced barrel influence and Cabernet presence supports an extended finish.
Merlot: 59%, Cabernet Sauvignon: 34%, Cabernet Franc: 4%, Malbec: 2%, Petit Verdot: 1%
The nose of the 2016 Métier manages to show elements of each of its major component varietals – ripe raspberries of Grenache, dark, wild sauvage of Mourvèdre, and a breath of violets from Syrah. Herbs de Provence, eucalyptus and green peppercorn add a savory note to an intensely fruit-driven mid palate. Untamed, linear tannins support these enduring fruit flavors through a long finish, leaving an evocative impression of this wine’s elegance.
Grenache: 42%, Mourvedre: 36%, Syrah: 19%, Cinsaut: 3%
