Rhone-Inspired Tasting Bundle
TRY 3 RHONE-INSPIRED BLENDS
Take home three of our Rhone-inspired favorites and taste along with Director of Winemaking Jason Gorski.
Our 2019 Roussanne is a very restrained vintage, requiring some time in the glass before whispered aromas of Asian pear, chamomile and kiwi can be coaxed out. Although energetic, it glides effortlessly on the palate without excessive weight, carrying welcoming cucumber and green apple flavors on a very Old World structure. This vintage shows hints of lemongrass, satay sauce and lime zest, making it a fantastic pairing with Asian food.
Tightly wound in its youth, our 2018 Métier eventually concedes, opening to reveal ripe raspberry and wild strawberry fruit aromas intermingled with fierce sauvage aromas of lavender, charcuterie and fennel pollen. The initial impression on the palate is incredibly deceiving, as light, soft vanilla and red fruit flavors surrender to an explosive mid-palate fully packed with red plum, anise, tapenade and cedar. Hedonistic and generous, this stunning effort builds beautifully.
In the glass, this wine is dark ruby in color with aromas of Syrah (60%) including tea leaf, violets and lavender combined with notes of Cabernet (40%) including Herbes de Provence, black currant and cassis. Mouthwatering and mineral on the palate, the 2017 Doyenne presents blue and red fruit flavors with blueberries, red licorice, and raspberries. This wine is beautifully integrated and surprisingly accessible in its youth, with sweet, plush tannins and wonderful balance.
