The 2019 Lot 3 is a blend of our favorite eight barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the esteemed Klipsun Vineyard.  Often quite powerful and structured in its youth, this year's effort is more restrained, highlighting the savory character of the vintage.  Cranberry, thyme, black fig, and hoisin are all framed beautifully by toasty oak.  The finish is invitingly long and refined, with trademark dusty Red Mountain tannins being the driver.  

The Cabernet Sauvignon from Discovery Vineyard displays poise and a perceived lightness that gracefully distinguishes itself from other Cabernet blocks we work with at DeLille.  Persistent blue fruits in the forefront are accompanied by sizzling bacon, graphite, and fresh hydrangea.  Oak aromas of vanilla and baking spices sit appropriately in the background, while the velvety texture eases into the polished finish.  There is plenty of enjoyment in this wine’s youth, but cellaring at least 7 years will surely provide more complexity and nuance.
