2015 Roussanne
Red Mountain AVA
Bearing the name inspired by its russet-colored skin, Roussanne is one of the few noble white grapes that can retain natural acidity and crisp structure nurtured under our beloved Red Mountain sun. This is an aromatic wine full of juicy lime and honeysuckle blossom showing both vibrant and delicate qualities free from any oak intervention. As a single vineyard wine from the famed Ciel du Cheval vineyard in the Red Mountain AVA, the distinctive mineral complexity is the foundation of every vintage. Almond oil, mint and Asian pear nuances support the characteristic juicy lime and Granny Smith apple notes on the nose. There is an explosion of mouthwatering flavors of peach, pear, sea salt and Limoncello liqueur. It’s beautifully constructed, balanced and seamless; an aromatic wine that is a classic example of the Roussanne grape.

The 2015 Roussanne from this team is gorgeous, and certainly getting up with some of the best examples of the variety coming out of Washington and California. It offers loads of pineapple, buttered citrus, honeysuckle and white flower characteristics, medium to full-bodied richness, juicy acidity and plenty of sweet fruit. With a rounded, supple texture and a great finish, it's going to shine on the dinner table over the next 2-3 years.
